November and December

Tejas turned 5 at the end of November. He was counting down the days till his party and was extremely specific about the type of cake he wanted - a Pirate cake. When we went to pick up the cake that we had ordered weeks ahead of time, they didn't have it ready. Luckily the store was able to put something together because a certain little man was not entertaining the idea of picking up a different already decorated cake. We had his birthday at Celebration Station which has both indoor arcade games and an outdoor play area and rides. Everyone had a good time and the weather was gorgeous.
        Tejas got a new Lightning McQueen bike for his birthday as he outgrew his old one. According to Seth, he almost put the whole thing together himself. Maybe that is why the training wheels keep coming loose. We tried to remove the training wheels but he is still too scared to try without so they quickly went back on. Karina was supposed to learn riding a bike on Tejas' old Lightning McQueen bike but the little princess prefers to sit in the stroller and get pushed around.
        I alwasy knew Karina would be a talker but I didn't know how much! It seems like ever since she started talking she is picking up new words and immitating everyone non-stop. She loves to discipline Tejas and then giggle. She is very naughty but very cute.
        We had our first warm Christmas. It was nice to have some family come visit. We were able to go outside for walks and sit on the patio for dinner. I for one did not miss the snow or the cold weather. Tejas and Karina were so excited for Santa. Tejas' letter to Santa asked for a 'pirate telescope and nothing else' while Karina's letter asked for 'Chocolate, Mommy, Daddy, Candy, Presents.' Tejas even left some reindoor food outside and a note with cookies and milk for Santa. They got lots of great toys from everyone!
        Karina was very excited about the New Year. She kept saying "Happy New Year!" all the way until 11:40. She almost made it. Tejas on the other hand fell asleep at 11 PM watching a movie. Karina did close 2011 out with a bang - she is officially out of diapers! Yea!
